Welcoming a new life into the world is a joyous and transformative experience, but it can also bring about a range of emotions and challenges for mothers. As a clinical psychologist specialising in perinatal mental health and a Mum of four children myself, I offer compassionate support to expectant and new mothers, as well as those growing their families during pregnancy and the early years of child-rearing.
In supporting the mental health needs of mothers, I take an integrative approach that considers both the well-being of the mother and the developmental needs of the infant and young child. My services are designed to address the psychological and emotional needs of mothers while also nurturing the bond between mother and child.
Whether you're navigating feelings of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, or adjusting to the demands of parenthood, I'm here to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore and address these concerns. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and personalised care, tailored to meet the unique needs of each mother and child.
By taking an integrative approach, I aim to promote the holistic well-being of both mother and child, recognising the interconnectedness of their mental health and development. Together, we'll work collaboratively to develop effective coping strategies and promote emotional resilience for both you and your child.
Your journey into motherhood is unique, and my goal is to empower you with the tools and resources you need to navigate it with confidence and resilience, while nurturing the thriving development of your child.
As a clinical psychologist and a mother of four, I understand the myriad of concerns parents face regarding their children's emotional and behavioural development. From playground conversations to classroom chats and beyond, it's common for parents to wonder what's "normal" when it comes to their child's emotional and behavioural functioning, social interactions, learning, and attention. My practice specialises in providing clarity and guidance, offering support to parents navigating the complexities of childhood development.
We do this by an innovative practise model.
At The Silver Lining Collective, we recognise that parents are the foremost authorities in their child's journey. As a clinical psychologist specialising in childhood assessment and conceptualisation, my focus is on partnering with you to understand your child's unique needs deeply. Through thorough evaluation, we explore together what might be unfolding for your child, determining whether additional intervention is warranted. From there, I provide tailored recommendations and strategy suggestions, all with the aim of equipping you to support your child's development comprehensively.

Understanding Your Child's Challenges: What is Conceptualization?
Conceptualisation might sound like a big word, but it's actually a helpful way to think about what's going on with your child. When we talk about conceptualization in our practice, we're talking about understanding the different pieces of the puzzle that make up your child's challenges or concerns.
Think of it like this: imagine your child's challenges are like a jigsaw puzzle. Each piece of the puzzle represents a different aspect of what your child is going through - their feelings, behaviours, thoughts, and experiences. Conceptualisation is like putting those puzzle pieces together to see the bigger picture.
By understanding how all these pieces fit together, we can better understand what might be causing your child's difficulties. This helps us figure out the best ways to support your child and your family.
Your child does not require a referral from a GP or paediatrician to access the Silver Lining Collective. However, it is recommended that a thorough physical examination is completed and available for Dr Sascha’s review. Medicare and private health insurance rebates may then apply.
An initial consultation with Dr Sascha is inclusive of:
The investment for this package is $550AUD.
In addition to our core assessment services, we offer specialised evaluations tailored to identify neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), and other complex developmental concerns. Through a thorough clinical psychological assessment process, we assess your child's brain design, behaviours, emotions, and cognitive functioning to gain a deeper understanding of their unique needs.
This assessment process may lead to a diagnosis of the specific condition, providing clarity and validation for your family's experiences. With this diagnosis, we then guide you through the necessary steps to access support services, including assisting with documentation for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Assessment and diagnostic packages commence at $2000 AUD.
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is one of the most effective evidence-based parenting programs in the world, backed up by more than 35 years of ongoing research. Triple P gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behavior and prevent problems developing. Triple P is used in more 30 countries and has been shown to work across cultures, socio-economic groups and in many different kinds of family structures.
The Parents under Pressure (PuP) program was developed to support parents and carers facing multiple challenges. An individualised, therapeutic family support plan is developed drawing from theoretical models of child development, attachment, and emotional regulation. The ultimate goal is to ensure that children can reach their full potential and that parents and carers are able provide a family environment that will support this goal.
At Circle of Security International, we focus on training providers with many different backgrounds and from many different disciplines to help caregivers connect with the children in their lives. The Circle of Security figure is a central visual used as part of interventions for caregivers, all of which are focused on helping caregivers reflect upon children’s attachment needs in order to promote secure attachment with a child.
